“The Little Book of Calm”

Somehow it is so easy to miss the moment when a little healthy stress turns into physically and mentally draining too much stress. For some while now, “The Little Book of Calm” has been my companion in the most stressful moments when I need to remind myself to slow down.
Here are my four signs that tell me it's time to slow down before things get out of hand:
🌀searching conspicuously often for missing things (wallet, car keys, gym pass, etc.)
🌀frantically catching up with emails, task lists, deadlines, social media, etc.
🌀listening to music but not hearing the lyrics
🌀ruining something - spilling food on clothes, dropping a cup on the floor, scratching the car, etc.

Slowing down means bringing attention back to the present moment, turning anxiety into excitement with inner dialog and taking time to physically recharge.

“If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.” Lao Tzu
