"7 Rules of Power"

“If you want power to be used for good, more good people need to have power.” Jeffrey Pfeffer
Although power is felt to be something negative and from the dark side, it is pretty obvious that in some positions one can get more things done than in the others. Reading the book, everybody will probably outline their 7 rules of increasing their power regardless of what Pfeffer suggests.

Here is my takeaway:
1️⃣ Break the rules by asking for things.
2️⃣ It is more effective to ask for forgiveness than permission.
3️⃣ Be true to what others want you to be.
4️⃣ As we have several selves, then to which self shall we be true?
5️⃣ Showing up without notes, appearing to be in the command of the subject matter and situation, is important.
6️⃣ Powerful speech is simple, makes declarations (instead of asking questions), repeats the statements.
7️⃣ In networking create value for others.
